Duty Free Shopping in St Lucia

St Lucia water taxi trip

Take a water taxi to Rodney Bay for sightseeing and shopping

One of the most enjoyable things to do during a holiday is shopping around for souvenirs, local arts and crafts, and the odd bargain or two.

When you’re shopping in St Lucia, in many cases you can grab plenty of bargains by shopping in duty free outlets. If you’re planning to do this, it’s essential that you keep your passport with you, and proof of your outgoing air or sea ticket, to prove that you’re not staying in St Lucia permanently.

In our capital city, Castries (this is a short drive from Marigot Bay) there are two excellent duty free shopping outlets: La Place Carenage and the large Pointe Seraphine. Both of these outlets are duty free. These outlets are located on the waterfront and offer a wide variety of shops where you can buy souvenirs, jewellery, clothes and other keepsakes. Both La Place Carenage and Pointe Seraphine are open 9am-4pm Monday to Friday, and 9am to 1pm on Saturdays.

Further north, at Rodney Bay, there’s a brand new shopping centre – Baywalk Mall – with over 85 shops selling everything from designer clothing to the latest video games. Again, duty free prices are available if you show your passport and outward travel ticket. At Baywalk Mall there are large indoor and outdoor eating areas serving cuisine from all over the world, and there’s also a modern European style supermarket where you can stock up on supplies if you’re staying with us on a self-catering basis.

Even if you’re not renting a car while you’re in St Lucia, you will still be able to get out and about to explore the shops and attractions of the island; speak to our front desk team about organising taxis or even water taxi trips to explore the island and enjoy a spot of retail therapy during your stay.
