Beautiful though Marigot Bay is, no doubt when you come to stay at Marigot Beach Club and Dive Resort you’ll want to explore other parts of St Lucia at some point.
If you’re feeling a little adventurous, try a kayaking trip to Roseau Beach. These trips are organised by the dive shop at Marigot Beach Club, and are a great way to see some of the beautiful scenery and wildlife of St Lucia.
Your trip will start with a short briefing from the instructor and guide, followed by a quick trip around the mangroves of Marigot Bay to help you get used to paddling your kayak. Once you’re feeling confident, you’ll head out around the point and, staying close to the shore, you’ll be out on the sparkling Caribbean Sea.
You’ll pass a lovely little bay – Trou Roland – and then you’ll reach Roseau Beach, which is close to Marigot Bay but only really accessible by water (it’s very difficult to get to Roseau by land, even in a large 4×4).
Roseau, as you can see from our photo, is a really beautiful beach. Once you’ve arrived you’ll travel up the Roseau River, an important haven for St Lucian wildlife, where your guide will tell you about the plant and animal life you’ll see there – like estuary birds, crabs, fish, plants and flowers.
The trip takes about three hours in all, starting and ending at Marigot Beach Club. This trip is extremely popular with our guests, who tell us they thoroughly enjoy the experience. It’s worth booking early, as each trip is tailored for small parties of 4-5 people. Make sure you don’t miss out!
